Business Review Program Procedures
Step 1: Identify whether to seek a Waiver or Systems Certification
1. Waivers
- Existing Legacy Systems Freeze Waiver
If you are requesting that University Technology Services (UTS) expend resources to change the Legacy Administrative and Enterprise Systems (IMS systems) or any other systems currently in production within or supported by UTS during the ongoing OneCarolina Software Freeze period, you must request this change by going to: http://www.sc.edu/change/ - OneCarolina Non-Standard Business Processes
If you are requesting to perform business processes which will require configurations or customization of the OneCarolina product suite in ways different than the established standards for the University, you must apply for a Business Process Waiver.
- New or Existing Software Systems
If you want a 3rd party or auxiliary system to be interfaced with the University's enterprise OneCarolina System, you must apply for a System/Data Interface Certification. - Data Interfaces
If you need an automated data interface to be created or require a download of data from the OneCarolina data repository, you must apply for a System/Data Interface Certification.
Step 2: Complete the Waiver/Certification Application
To view an example of the Waiver/Certification application, click here. You can access the form electronically and complete it by clicking on the Start Application link at the bottom of this page.
All questions need to be answered as completely as possible. Incomplete answers or missing information could result in a delay of your application. When the application has been completed and saved, the application should be reviewed, and the “submitted” box checked. The request will be automatically submitted to the OneCarolina Leadership Team for processing at the next monthly review session.
Waiver/Certification Application Process
Applications received by the OneCarolina Leadership Team will be indexed and scheduled for review at the next available monthly review session. The sponsor for the application will be contacted as to the time and location of your application presentation. At that time, the sponsor, or their designee, will review and discuss the application for consideration. At the completion of the presentation and discussions, the OneCarolina Leadership team will take one of the following actions:
- Approve Application
- Reject Application
- Place Application on Hold for further information and analysis.
Applications which have been “approved” will be returned to the application sponsor with formal documentation of acceptance and any related terms and conditions.
Applications which have been “rejected” will receive formal documentation stating the reasons for the rejection and possible next steps. Applications that have been rejected may also be appealed to the OneCarolina Executive Sponsorship Committee where the Application Sponsor may be heard for final reconsideration. See the process diagram below.
