my.sc.edu and Self Service Carolina: What You Need to Know Right Now
What do I need to do right now?
If you're currently a student, nothing at the moment. You'll be receiving communications from the Registrar's Office, the Office of Financial Aid, and your academic advisor on how to register for classes and manage your financial aid information for Fall 2013.
What is Self Service Carolina?
Self Service Carolina (SSC) is the system that will be used by students, faculty, and staff to manage their personal information and perform many common, day-to-day transactions. Students will use SSC to register for classes, manage their financial aid information, and view their class schedule, while faculty will use SSC to communicate with students and assign grades.
Meanwhile, staff will eventually use SSC to do things like view their paycheck and manage their leave balance.
What is my.sc.edu?
my.sc.edu is a webpage that will direct students, faculty, and staff to either SSC or VIP, depending on what they need to do. For the Fall 2013 semester, students will use SSC to register for classes and manage their financial aid information. For both Summer I and Summer II 2013, they will use VIP. By late 2013, the majority of student services will be accessible from SSC.

What is OneCarolina?
OneCarolina is the three-year-old initiative that replaces the University’s suite of outdated administrative computing applications with one easily accessible, Web-based system. my.sc.edu is a product of OneCarolina.
