The Vogue Archive: Leveraging Images and Metadata for Fashion and Cultural Research

Meatto speaks about his work on The Vogue Archive, a digital archive of Vogue Magazine's historic catalog, including a demonstration of the Vogue Archive's website; alternative careers for LIS professionals; and his observations on the role of digital humanities in the corporate world.

Biography:

Chris Meatto is an archivist working in the digital archive at Condé Nast, where he helps build archival products, service research requests, and maintain the company’s digital asset management system. Previously, he contributed to the New Yorker Archive as an editorial intern. As a student worker at Brown University while earning a BA in History, Meatto helped conserve and catalog printed materials in Brown University’s John Hay and John D. Rockefeller, Jr. libraries.
