Education

B.S. Family Science, University of Maryland - College Park
M.Ed. Higher Education and Student Affairs, University of South Carolina

Background

Hometown: Damascus, Maryland

About MeI got into higher education because I was so involved in my sorority. I served as Recruitment Vice President and Chapter President and these leadership experiences coupled with working with the amazing Greek Life Staff at the University of Maryland inspired me to work with college students for a living! During graduate school I was introduced to advising and the concept of connecting inside and outside the classroom experiences to enhance learning. As an academic success coach, I get to work with students to explore this idea every single day, and I could not love my job more!

Areas of Expertise: Greek Life; Coaching and Advisement; Appreciative Advising

Professional Achievements:

  • 2015 James B. Campbell-Charles H. Witten Fellowship - University of South Carolina College of Education
  • 2014 Kalegathos Society (Top 20 Greek Leaders) - University of Maryland Order of Omega

Favorite Quote:  "You must be the change you wish to see in the world" -Mahatma Gandhi

Advice to Students:  Get involved and connect with the University! I ended up transferring after my freshman year, because I didn't connect with my university outside of classes. When I transferred I got involved in everything I could and I consider it the best 3 years of my life!
