About Me: After moving to Columbia to pursue my graduate degree in 2014, I fell in love with USC so much I was in no rush to leave! Prior to working as a First-Year Advisor, I advised for the College of Information and Communications and the College of Education. I found my passion for advising during graduate school and love working with first-year students! I am a foodie who loves to explore the Columbia restaurant scene. I also enjoy cooking and baking, and make what some people call the best pound cake they have ever tasted. When I am not working with my students you can find me at the Soda City Farmers Market, trying a new restaurant, or enjoying the beautiful South Carolina weather with a good book.
Favorite Quote: “Look at everything always as though you were seeing it either for the first or last time: Thus is your time on earth filled with glory.” -Betty Smith, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
Advice to Students: Take advantage of all the opportunities the university has to offer! This is such a large institution that provides so many opportunities for its students, but you have to be willing to seek them out! Don't be afraid to ask questions, whether that is reaching out to your professor, connecting with a peer, or contacting your advisor. Also get to know Columbia as a city, there is so much to see just outside the borders of campus!
