Capstone Scholars

Life as a Capstone Scholar

There are many ways to describe a Capstone Scholar, each one better than the last.

The Place for High Achievers

Capstone Scholars are interested in getting the most of their education, whether that occurs inside or outside of the classroom. You can find Capstone Scholars among our university's researchers, student leaders, entrepreneurs and top award recipients.

An Exclusive Community

The Capstone Scholars Program is invitation-only. Every students that is invited to join us has a very competitive grade point average, a university scholarship and high standardized test scores.

When you join Capstone, you're joining the top group of academic performers at Carolina. Come see the Fall 2017 cohort profile to see what students joined us last year.

Individual Mentoring

Staff members will meet with you at least once a semester to learn about your goals and help you make a plan to achieve them. They will also help you stay on track to meet Capstone's standards and requirements.

The Capstone Scholars Program has been an essential part of my college experience.

Living With Us

Capstone Scholars don't have to live in the Capstone residence halls, but doing so makes for a richer experience.

A Fast Walk to Class

Capstone Hall and Columbia Hall, where you can choose to live, are right next to each other and within a ten minute walk to many academic buildings where you will attend classes.

Suite-Style Living

Two people will share a room and two rooms will share a common area. University Housing offers room dimensions and floor plans for Capstone Hall and Columbia Hall.

Extra Study Space

With a full kitchen and wireless access, the Capstone Scholars Office also doubles as a space to study, meet with a group or just relax. The room is also home to a favorite Capstone tradition, Hot Cookie Friday.

Applying to be a Capstone Scholar

The Capstone Scholars Program accepts students by invitation only. When you apply for admission to USC, you will be considered for Capstone. Invited students will be notified in March.
