Directory Feed

The directory feed snippet pulls in key information from your directory profile pages, displayed in one of three different ways.

Once profile pages are created and tagged, you can use the directory feed snippet to display groups of profiles on pages within your site. The feed is created by matching the tag you applied to a group of profile pages to the tag used in the directory snippet. The snippet allows you to maintain the information in one place — on the profile pages — and automatically updates any feeds throughout your site should the profile information change. You can choose from three formatting options, display only faculty member profiles, include or omit photos, and determine the logic of how multiple tags are used together.

Formatting Options

  • List View

Pulls the profile image, name (first, middle and last name plus suffix), and brief bio information from the profile pages and displays the information within a simple list.  Each name in the feed links back to the person's full profile page.

  • directory feed - list

  • Contact View

Pulls the profile image, name (first, middle and last name plus, suffix), primary title, email and phone number from the profile pages and displays them in a structured list view. Each name in the feed links back to the person's full profile page.

  • directory feed - contacts

  • Table View

Pulls the name (first, middle and last name plus suffix), primary title, email and phone number from the profile pages and displays them in a data table. Names in the table link back to the person's full profile page. The table can include a hidden column for filtering table content — add secondary titles, keywords or a specific department.

Best practice

Headers

The snippet does not include a title or headline, so be sure to either use your page title or place a subhead for your directory feed page above the snippet.

Making Updates

Anytime you make a change on a profile page you need to publish that page AND the directory index page. Once both pages are republished, linked feeds throughout your site will automatically update to include the new information.
