As Business Manager for the Office of Continuing Education and Conferences, Sarah is responsible for managing the fiscal and operational facets of the department. She works closely with program managers to ensure viability of programs and services and manages day-to-day fiscal operations including travel, hiring, purchasing, accounts payable and program reconciliations for the department.
Sarah earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1977 from Queens University in Charlotte, NC. After graduating, she accepted a position as a sales representative with RJR Nabisco. For 14 years she managed several large territories of grocery stores selling and marketing Nabisco’s cookie and cracker product line. While there, she attended the Dale Carnegie Institute for Effective Speaking and Human Relations.
In the following years, Sarah worked in a variety of administrative and accounting positions. Beginning in 1991, she began her career in the Office of Continuing Education and Conferences at USC where she spent 4 years. Later she spent 3 years working as a realtor and then several years working independently in the event business with her brother where they coordinated festivals, parades, murder mysteries. In 2005, she returned to USC’s Office of Continuing Education and Conferences and for the past eight years she has served as business manager.
