Our understanding of the brain and how it functions has expanded at an astonishing rate. In this class, you will begin to understand the basic components of the nervous system and how those components work together to influence thoughts and behaviors. Questions that will be the focus of this class will include the following: Why do we have a brain? What happens when the brain doesn’t work the way it should? How does the brain learn?
Class activities will include discussions, examination of human brains and sheep brain dissections.
