Meredith Higgs, Pre-University Programs and University Test Prep Manager for Continuing Education and Conferences, is responsible for coordinating youth programs for academically talented and gifted students in grades 5-12 and helps students prepare for undergraduate and graduate school exams by offering preparation courses in SAT/ACT, GRE, GMAT, and LSAT.
Meredith earned a Bachelors of Arts from Lynchburg College in Virginia with a double major in Communication Studies and Journalism and an emphasis in Public Relations and in Sports Management in 2004. While Meredith was attending Lynchburg College, she was the Vice-President for her sorority, Alpha Sigma Alpha.
Meredith earned a Master’s Degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management from the University of South Carolina in 2005. While attending USC, Meredith served as the graduate assistant for the McCutchen House and helped oversee the operations of undergraduate students that worked at the McCutchen House. While in graduate school, Meredith did an internship in recreation and camps at the Westin Resort in Hilton Head Island.
After graduation, Meredith was a sales manager for the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA where she scheduled conferences and events and worked with clients on site like the Atlanta Falcons and the Georgia Music Hall of Fame. She returned to Columbia and was the Director of Events at the Inn at USC on the University of South Carolina campus for two years. In 2008, Meredith returned to her alma mater and now serves as the Program Manager for Pre-University Programs and University Test Prep Manager. She is actively involved in the Junior League of Columbia and enjoys watching the Gamecocks.
