Such assumptions are mistaken and can make it difficult to teach effectively. This workshop discuses these and other assumptions to help faculty get on the right track for teaching excellence.

About the Facilitator

Jed Lyons is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering. His research on materials science and on engineering education has generated more than $6M in funding and been disseminated by over 50 articles and 70 presentations. His honors include the receipt of the Joseph M. Bedenbach Distinguished Service Award (2006), Samuel Litman Distinguished Professor Award (2004), and Michael J. Mungo Teaching Award (2003). His passion is developing active learning experiences for learners of all ages.
