Counseling and Psychiatry

While you're in college, maintaining your mental health is a very important factor in remaining physically healthy, and in acheiving both social and academic success. Counseling & Psychiatry provides students a safe place to speak privately and confidentially with a trained counselor or psychiatrist about a variety of concerns. There are a wide range of questions and issues that we can help address. These may include:

  • Stress, anxiety, loneliness or depression
  • Isolation as a member of a minority group on campus
  • Adjustment to new and unique cultural and social customs
  • Separation from family and friends
  • Language and communication with other students and faculty

Integrity Line
The first step in addressing any workplace issue is to talk with your immediate supervisor or someone in a higher level of authority. International Student Services

Office of Multicultural Student Affairs

The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs (OMSA) is an office within the Department of Student Life that educates, empowers, and organizes students, campus and community partners to create opportunities for multicultural education, self-awareness, advocacy, cultural understanding, and social justice. The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs works to strengthen and sustain an inclusive campus community for all historically marginalized communities, and to provide support, services and resources necessary to meet the social, academic and cultural needs of our underrepresented student population.

Speech and Hearing Center

The Communication Sciences & Disorders Speech & Hearing Research Center provides quality diagnostic and treatment programs for individuals of all ages with communication disabilities. Programs focus on speech, language, hearing, recovery groups, support groups and prevention programs.

Student Disability Services

The Office of Student Disability Services empowers students to manage challenges and limitations imposed by disabilities. Our professionally trained staff provides students with exceptional services as they transition to college or continue their studies at the University.  The office serves students with learning, physical, health, or psychiatric disabilities in managing the varying demands of the University experience.  In addition to serving students, the staff assists the University community in making programs, services, and activities accessible for everyone.
