Michele Branch-Frappier joined the Division of Information Technology in April. She will work to develop collaboration among technology leaders throughout the University of South Carolina and develop venues that allow individuals to share information and resources in technological best practices. She will facilitate IT professional development and help develop strategic planning for future technology initiatives at the university.
Branch is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and has more than 25 years of experience in technology. Her most recent position was Chief Information Officer at Columbia International University.
She said her first position after graduating from USC was mounting tapes on the tape drives in the old Computer Services Division building at USC, which is now known as the Annex. She said, "Since then I've done a little bit of everything – programming, systems analysis, technical writing, user training, networking, desktop support, web development and most recently served as the CIO at a small private institution. I am excited about rejoining the University of South Carolina team."
