SLIS Conducts First Ever Live Streaming Event

The School of Library and Information Science held its first-ever live streaming event on Friday, November 16th.  Jeff Salter and Lewis Zeigler handled the filming and streaming duties.  The streaming was hosted at LiveStream.Com.  "The greatest advantage of this type of streaming is that the event can be viewed on any device," said Jill Chappell-Fail, Senior Information Resources Consultant for the College of Mass Communications & Information Studies.

Another aspect of the Livestream site is that it immediately archives the video so that the recording becomes available for viewing as soon as the event is finished.  Livestream also provides a live chat feed so that viewers can interact with the event hosts.

They plan to stream another event - the SLIS Colloquium - on December 7th, as well as the SLIS Hooding Ceremony in Rutledge Chapel on Graduation Day, December 17th, 2012.  For further details, see the The School of Library and Information Science.
