Y-IMPACT (Community Service)
Y-IMPACT collaborates with partner organizations to make a positive impact on the
University of South Carolina campus community and beyond.
Youth Impacting Minds, People and Communities Together (Y-IMPACT) is a service organization within Preston that focuses on areas such as education, community engagement, and
health and wellness. The group, which is involved in several service projects plus
local and international philanthropy, is guided by the Y-IMPACT Constitution [pdf].

Meet Our Student Leaders
Mikayla McCord, President
Mikayla is a sophomore biology major minoring in Portuguese. This will be her second
year in Preston, and she is very excited to rejoin her Preston family. Last year she served
as Hall Government Secretary and one of the chairs for Transitions Homeless Shelter
through Y-IMPACT. As Y-IMPACT president, she hopes to instill a love of service in
Preston residents, and make the USC and Columbia communities a better place. She loves
traveling, helping others, sloths and bragging about her dogs.
