Student Support

Adapting to life on campus takes some getting used to. We are specialized to meet the unique needs of students from underrepresented communities and here to make the adjustment as easy as possible.

Multicultural Assistance Peer Program

If it is your first year, our Multicultural Assistance Peer Program (M.A.P.P.) is designed for you. We will pair you with a trained mentor who can show you around campus, answer your questions and give you an insider's view of what life is like for a multicultural student at the University of South Carolina.

Men of Color Initiative

The Men of Color Initiative (MoCI) is a program that provides support and encouragement to students that identify as men of color. We can connect you to a network of students, faculty, staff and mentors who are invested in your success and want to help you.

Queer Connections: LGBTQ+ First Year Experience Program

The challenges facing LGBTQ+ individuals in college are unique in many ways. We create opportunities for LGBTQ+ students who are new to the University of South Carolina to make connections with other Queer/Trans students, faculty and staff in a supportive environment.

Transgender Students

A campus that is inclusive of all gender identities and gender expressions allows every student the freedom to explore their identities and feel safe and accepted. You will find a number of resources for transgender and gender non-conforming people at USC, as well as resources to help you learn more about the experiences of transgender and gender non-conforming people.
