On Your Time Initiatives

Student Behavior

As a part of the University of South Carolina community, faculty play an essential role in maintaining the safety and well-being of our students.

FOR ALL EMERGENCIES, especially after hours or on weekends, call the USC Police Department at 803-777-9111.

Both inside and out of the classroom, the Carolinian Creed obligates all members of the university community to a code of civilized behavior.

Academic Integrity

All forms of academic dishonesty are prohibited. The office of Academic Integrity offers resources including policies governing student conduct. An “Incident Report” form is available for faculty to submit suspected violations.

Student Misconduct

Please report any student misconduct to Shelley Dempsey at (803) 777-9850 by the following day. The Office of Student Conduct provides instructor guidelines for student misconduct and disruptive activity.

In addition, the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) addresses student behaviors that are disruptive and may include mental health and/or safety issues. Students who qualify for a Behavioral Intervention Team referral demonstrate one or more of the behaviors above.

Student Health Services

Thomson Student Health Center provides comprehensive primary healthcare, disease prevention and wellness programs, and mental health and violence prevention services.
