On Your Time Initiatives


University Technology Services (UTS) offers a full range of technology support for faculty. Service desk support is available online, over the phone and in person. Here's how you can request support:

  • Call 803-777-1800, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.
  • Submit an online request through the UTS Self-Service Portal.
  • Students can visit the Carolina Tech Zone for hands-on support.

VIP Access

Once you are officially intered into the university system as an instructor, you will receive VIP access so that you can view class rolls, upcoming paychecks, online directory info and more. Information through VIP will be available approximately two weeks following receipt of the signed hiring documents. 

Select the “USC ID/Pin Login & First Time Users” tab, then at Step 1 enter your social security number and at Step 3 enter your four-digit birth month and day as a temporary password. Official grades must be posted through VIP.  Prior to submission time, a link will appear on your VIP course site.

Blackboard should be used to communicate with your students and unofficially post grades. This is also where you can post your syllabus and other important documents. You can access the Blackboard Notifications Dashboard for more information and to familiarize yourself with the many different features.
