Rides Around Town

In addition to our on-campus services, we offer need-based services that require a little advanced planning. There are also services for travels that take you away from the areas that campus and local transit serve.

Freshman Freedom Pass

This pass allows any student of the University unlimited rides using the COMET bus system during their first year at USC. You can access any bus route at any time of day and travel freely throughout Columbia on the COMET.

There are several routes near campus.

ADA Transit

On Campus

The Office of Student Disability Services (OSDS) offers unique accommodations for students with accessibility needs. You will be provided with transportation to and from class on campus while classes are in session.

The application process can take several weeks so take care of the registration as soon as possible.

Off Campus

The university suggests fulfilling off campus transit needs with The COMET’s DART (Dial A Ride Transit) program.

You must be preregistered before you can get access to the service.

Columbia to Charlotte Shuttle

Sometimes, air travel is the best way to go. You may have chosen to study abroad or, perhaps, you are heading home for a long-anticipated family visit. Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE) is a short journey from campus and Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) is approximately 1 1/2 hours away.

If you decide to fly Charlotte Douglas International Airport, take advantage of the Columbia Charlotte Shuttle. This service will take you to the Charlotte airport from any Columbia location. It will also deliver you to campus, or another Columbia location, from the airport. The service costs $55 per person each way.

USC Holiday Shuttles

USC Holiday Shuttles are offered via Student Government Association during Fall and Spring Breaks.
