Requesting a Letter

An official letter on University letterhead confirming your specific ACM-eligible major is a required part of a complete ACM application. Follow the steps below if you do not have a letter confirming your current ACM-eligible major.

Declare an ACM-Eligible Program

Students who have not yet declared their specific ACM-eligible major must do so prior to requesting a letter confirming major.

Incoming freshmen or transfer students may contact Admissions at (803)777-7700 to declare a major or concentration. Current students may contact their current academic advisor or visit the
University Advising Center for information regarding major change.

Request a Letter

* required

Please note: letters confirming major may take 7-10 business days to be issued. Requests are processed in the order in which they are received. If additional information is required or incomplete information is provided, processing may extend past abovementioned timeframe. If a student is not in the major and/or concentration for the letter requested, a letter will not be issued until the student has declared the major/concentration, and processing time will extend past 7-10 business days.

Letters for past or current semesters will not be issued. Letters confirming major do not guarantee receipt of an ACM Certification, they are intended to be used as part of a complete ACM application package submitted to state ACM offices in advance of USC and state ACM deadlines/processing times (see Important Dates).
