Each year, the Office of the Vice President for Research offers a competitive research grant program for graduate students from all areas of study. This academic year, 54 students from 10 different academic units will receive SPARC grants of up to $5,000.

Making an Impact

USC's Office of the Vice President for Research has, since 2011, made major investments in the university's research community at every level. USC Postdocs Band Together

In 2014, USC's postdoctoral scholars joined together to form a new organization, the USC Postdoctoral Association. This group provides networking, professional development, social support and other opportunities for a campus community that might otherwise fall through the cracks.

2017 SPARC Graduate Research Grant Workshops Begin August 30

The Office of the Vice President for Research is accepting SPARC Grant applications until Wednesday, October 11. SPARC applicants are required to attend a SPARC application workshop, which will be offered four times beginning on Wednesday, August 30.

Office of Research Offers Grant Basics Workshop for Graduate Students and Postdocs

Graduate students and postdoctoral scholars are invited to a special Grant Writing Basics Workshop on Thursday, September 21. The workshop includes an overview of strategies for grant writing and budget development, followed by a panel discussion featuring past SPARC and ASPIRE I, Track II-B reviewers.
