We need your help on Wednesday, Aug. 16 and Tuesday, Aug. 22. Shifts will occur in one hour blocks from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
Who can help?
We are seeking help from UofSC faculty, staff and official peer leader groups or registered student organizations.
Why should I help?
This fall, the Volunteer Move-In Crew is celebrating its 23rd anniversary! Come be a part of the celebration and the opportunity to help new students and parents get a first glance at the great Gamecock spirit and community in action.
How can I help?
You will be assigned to a residence area and will assist students and parents move in. You may also be asked to help out with greeting new families and/or giving directions. Our next class of first-year students is expected to be large again and we anticipate needing at least 300 volunteers to help manage all those TV's, lofts, and clothes, and to offer a warm Southern welcome. Whenever you can work, come and be a part of the fun!
What skills do I need?
None! You will not need any special training - just come with a smile on your face and the willingness to help our students and their family members. Pack a refillable water bottle too! All volunteers must wear the official 2017 move-in crew t-shirt. Once we make your assignment we will send you a waiver to sign, details on where to pick up your shirt and nametag, and instructions for your volunteer schedule!
When can I help?
Move-In 2017 will be held on two days: Wednesday, August 16th and Tuesday, August 22nd. The hours are flexible but the "Crew" typically works in two hour shifts starting at 8:00 AM.
We will contact you in July with your assignment. If you have any question or concerns, please contact the Student Success Center at 803-777-1000 or firstname.lastname@example.org
