Steps to Complete After Enrollment Deposit Has Been Paid

Congratulations on your decision to attend the University of South Carolina! As a new Gamecock, your potential has no limits, and we cannot wait to welcome you to campus soon!

As you prepare for your enrollment at Carolina, please pay close attention to the following "next steps:"

Log in to your student email

Your student email address is your Network Username followed by @email.sc.edu.

If you have not logged in to your USC email before, you will need to log in to my.sc.edu using your VIP ID and password to get your Network Username. Your Network Username will be the second name under "Your USC Identifiers." You'll then need to click "Manage Password" to set the password. Don't forget to write down your Network Username and password!

Apply for on-campus housing on Self Service Carolina

You can start the housing application process by following this link and selecting “View housing information.” Please note the housing application for the summer and fall 2018 semester will become available in mid-December.

 

Register for New Student Orientation

Your attendance at New Student Orientation is required. You can start the orientation registration process by going to Self Service Carolina and selecting “View orientation information." Please note that New Student Orientation registration for summer and fall 2018 semester will be available in mid-April.

International Students

In addition to New Student Orientation, all new international students must register for International Student Orientation with International Student Services (ISS). International Student Orientation is required even if you have previously attended a high school or college in the United States. In order to comply with South Carolina legislation, ISS must verify your lawful presence in the United States by reviewing your immigration paperwork during orientation. ISS will also inform you of your responsibilities concerning your visa status. To register, please visit sc.edu/internationalservices.

Complete the Mathematics Placement Test

Complete the Mathematics Placement Test before New Student Orientation. Please visit Department of Mathematics to take the test. Remember that this test does not affect your admission status, but it is needed before you’re allowed to register for any math course.

Complete the Foreign Language Placement Test

Complete the Foreign Language Placement test before New Student Orientation. Please visit the Placement Testing page to register

Submit Final Transcripts

If you are a high school senior, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions needs your final transcript (s) after you graduate. Don't forget we need an official transcript of any dual enrollment college work (not AP or IB courses) you attempted in high school.

Submit your Immunization Record Form

Submit your immunization record form to the Thomson Student Health Center before New Student Orientation. 

Submit your Citizenship Status Verification Form

Submit your citizenship verification form and appropriate documentation to the Office of the University Registrar before New Student Orientation.

Complete South Carolina Residency Certification Form

Students claiming South Carolina residency for tuition purposes are required to the complete the South Carolina Residency Certification form on Self Service Carolina. Visit Self Service Carolina and click “Access South Carolina residency information” under “Newly Admitted Students.”
