Continuing to remain competitive

Did you play a sport in high school? Who says you can't continue playing it in college? We certainly don't.

The University of South Carolina offers countless opportunities to remain active. You can try out for a club sport if you want to play competitively. Or, if you just want to play for fun or try something different, you can join an intramural team.

Junior management science major Gabby Jabbour played volleyball throughout her childhood and wanted to continue playing in college. Joining the club volleyball team allowed her to remain competitive and continue to play the sport she loved.

"I didn't really know a life without volleyball, and joining the club was my way of continuing something I've always loved."

Over the course of the fall semester, Gabby's team practiced twice a week and traveled to multiple tournaments. In the spring, they traveled to Nationals to compete against schools from across the country.

Aside from staying active, there is still a strong element of camaraderie among teammates.

"I've met some of my closest friends through this team and have participated in numerous service and leadership opportunities. Being on a team has countless benefits, but for me, the biggest benefit comes from the relationships I've make with my teammates. My college experience would have been very different if I wasn't a part of USC's women's club volleyball team."
