Pathways to USC Columbia

There’s more than one way to start your path to the University of South Carolina’s Columbia campus. After beginning your education elsewhere, you can apply as a transfer student once you’ve earned a satisfactory GPA on a least 30 hours of college work.

If you started at one of our USC system campuses, you will be considered a USC System Transfer. If you started at a community college or another university outside the USC system, you will be considered a Non-USC System Transfer. Click the links below to learn more about each pathway to Carolina.

USC System Transfer

Complete the USC Pathways Form if you would like for USC Columbia to forward your contact information to a four-year USC campus.

Complete the USC Pathways Form if you would like for USC Columbia to forward your contact information to a Palmetto College campus.

USC Non-System Transfer

If you currently attend or have attended a post-secondary institution other than one of the USC system campuses, refer to our transfer requirements and process.

Transfer Connect provides support and outreach to students at South Carolina Technical Colleges who are interested in transferring to the University of South Carolina. If you are interested in joining Transfer Connect, please complete and submit this form.

The University of South Carolina (USC) and several SC Technical Colleges including Midlands Technical College have partnered to create direct transfer tracks within specific majors, allowing students to earn an associate degree prior to transferring to USC. Direct track students who meet the admissions requirements for the University and for the academic major and who meet the application deadline are guaranteed admission to the USC to continue their degree program.
