Graduate Leader Program

The Graduate Leader Program provides an opportunity for second-year graduate students of the Higher Education and Student Affairs M.Ed. program to learn how to effectively develop and teach a first-year seminar. There are two tracks to the Graduate Leader role: Graduate Instructor of Record or Graduate Co-Instructor. Information on the application process and requirements of the roles can be found below.

Requirements

  • status as a second-year graduate student (18 earned credit hours) in the Master of Higher Education and Student Affairs program at USC
  • attend the Graduate Leader Information Session
Application Deadline Tuesday, November 28
Interview with members of U101 staff December 8 - January 11
Graduate Instructor of Record  attend the Teaching Experience Workshop (TEW) Friday, February 9, 16, and 23, 2024
Matching Process March 2024
Attend one Course Planning Workshop with co-instructor April 2024
Enroll in EDHE 834
Graduate leaders are required to enroll in EDHE 834 while team-teaching University 101. The course is designed to provide an opportunity for a supervised teaching experience. Grading is on an S/U basis.
