Our Mission

The mission of the University of South Carolina Lancaster Black Awareness Group is to communicate with all ethnicities and educate them of the past, present, and future issues of the black community. We also yearn to inform today’s youth about the dangers of the use of drugs, alcohol, and sex. In addition we also maintain a positive portrayal within the African American community. We strive to establish the foundation to educate the public on issues within the black community and promote empowerment, stability, and strength of society. The Black Awareness Group is also responsible for some of the major events that take place on campus such as the HIV/AIDS Day, Youth Explosion, and the Soul Food Luncheon.
