About

Each year hundreds of students begin their university experience at USC Salkehatchie, established in 1965 with eight part-time faculty members and just 76 students. And we’ve grown a lot since then, adding a second campus and increasing our student body to over 1,100, and our faculty to 20 full-time instructors.

USC Salkehatchie is centrally located in the lowcountry of South Carolina with campuses in Walterboro and Allendale. As our campus has grown, so has our educational, cultural, and economic impact on the community. We’re excited to continue to play an important part in the lives of local citizens as we enter our fifth decade of service to the rural lowcountry.

At USC Salkehatchie, our students thrive and have memorable college experiences. With affordable tuition and fees, plenty of degree choices, a low student-teacher ratio, and an outstanding faculty devoted to helping each student reach their full potential, every student has a chance to grow and learn.

Our students move forward, whether that means continuing on to a four year school, finding meaningful work in a field they love, or just knowing their next step. Every student at USC Salkehatchie is an individual and our goal is to help them succeed.
