Working and Going to School
Mandi Breymeyer is pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree through Palmetto College. She is proof that juggling the balance of work and school is possible.
“I started last August knowing I would have a heavy year ahead with a full-time work load in ICU at Palmetto Health Tuomey, a full-time school schedule and preparing to apply for graduate school. As long as I kept my focus on the big picture and managed my time well, I was able to accomplish all of my goals with straight A’s all year.”
In January 2017, Breymeyer will attend the University of South Carolina School of Medicine to pursue a Masters of Nurse Anaesthesia (MNA) degree.
Although the convenience of online classes and cost were key factors in choosing Palmetto College, Breymeyer’s main reason was a little more personal.
“I have always wanted my degree to be from the University of South Carolina. I went to an out-of-state college right out of high school, so when I decided to compliment my Associates Degree in Nursing with a BSN, I knew I finally had my chance to be affiliated with USC!”
