Q and A with Katelynn
What brought you to USC Sumter and what do you want to do with your degree?
I transferred to USC Sumter because it was close to home. I plan to transfer to USC Columbia to finish my bachelor’s degree in Art Studio-Graphic Design.
What is most challenging as a college student?
The most challenging task for me is time management. I struggle with making myself set aside time to finish projects early so that I can check over them before I have to turn them in.
What is one skill you believe every USC Sumter Student should possess?
Every student should have the skill to communicate effectively with other people. The university has so many opportunities for students to interact with people they both know and do not know.
What is/was your favorite class?
My favorite class was English 102 with Dr. Bucker. I enjoyed the plays, short stories, and poems we read in his class and how he explained the different aspects of them.
What are your plans after graduation?
After I receive my associate’s degree, I want to finish my bachelor’s degree in graphic design.
What advice would you give to future USC Sumter students?
Go to as many student life events as you can. There are so many opportunities to have fun, meet other students, and make new friends.
