Read what a few of our parents have to say about the Carolina difference:

"Our son (Rob) applied to three prominent universities and was fortunate to be accepted at all three. Upon arriving at USC and taking the guided tour, Rob immediately said, 'I can see myself here.' The open space, beauty of the campus, and friendliness of the students and staff impressed us from the very beginning. With Rob's interest in international studies and foreign relations, the curriculum at USC, study abroad opportunities and the prominence of the international business programs brought South Carolina to the top of his list. The clincher came when Rob received letters offering him an academic scholarship and inviting him to join the Capstone Scholars program. It's a good feeling to be wanted! When we visited USC again for Scholars Day, Rob's decision was solidified. We were extremely impressed with the faculty, facilities, and undergraduate programs.

Since then, Rob has enjoyed his years at USC. He's made some good friends and has really enjoyed his classes and professors. As parents, we have enjoyed visiting USC and Columbia. Parent's Weekend is always great, and we leave looking forward to our next visit."

"Ashley was convinced that she wanted to go to school out of state. USC is quite a distance from Wisconsin, but all of the people she has met at school, through University 101, her mentoring program in the residence hall, and just around campus, have shortened that distance. She has the support of caring students and staff that help make this experience away from home easier and happier. It's been a good transition into college life.

USC is rated one of the best schools in the nation. When I see and hear the many things USC is doing for students, families, and the community, I can understand why. As one of the primary schools we toured out-of-state, USC handled its recruiting process with knowledge, caring, and honesty. There was much follow-up when we returned home and it really made you feel 'wanted.' We are proud to be part of the USC community."
- Angelika S. Hensley

"As a parent, the University has made me feel like an important member of their South Carolina family. We have a common goal to support my child's academic and personal success. I consider it a privilege to be a partner in my child's education. USC provides a vital link between college and parents. They provide us with information and resources that one will find very helpful."
