Should I complete a transfer application?
You should complete a transfer application if you are:

• Seeking a bachelor's degree from the University of South Carolina and you have attended a college or school other than the University of South Carolina
• Seeking a bachelor's degree from the University of South Carolina, have attended Carolina in the past, but have most recently attended a college or school other than the University of South Carolina.

What credentials should be submitted in addition to your application and nonrefundable $50 application fee?
If you have completed less than 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours of non-remedial college course work, then you must submit the following:

• Official high school transcripts sent directly from every school you have attended
• Official SAT or ACT test scores (for all dates you have taken) sent to us directly from the CollegeBoard or ACT, respectively.
• Official transcripts from all colleges attended through the time of your application.

If you have completed more than 30 semester hours of non-remedial college course work, than you must submit the following:

• Official transcripts from all colleges attended through the time of your application.
• Official transcripts that reflect updated grades and courses completed following the date you submitted your application and preceding the date you wish to begin courses at the University of South Carolina.

Do I have to worry about deadlines?
Yes! Deadlines are very important. The sooner you submit your application, the sooner you'll hear back from us. Typically, it takes four to six weeks for us to make a decision on your application. During the busiest time of our annual admission cycle (November through January), it can take up to 12 weeks.

How do I apply?
The easiest way to apply is by completing an online application. Before you can begin your online application, you must first set up an account with a unique user ID and password. Once you've begun your application, you may save it and return to it as many times as you wish.

I do not want to complete an electronic application. I want paper instead. What are my options?
You may call the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at 803-777-7700 or toll-free, 800-868-5872, and ask to receive a paper application.
