Information Resources
Gifts of information resources (books, journals, historical photographs and documents, etc.) are an important part of the development of a research collection. All gift offers receive careful consideration for acceptance by the
USCB Library. Many factors play a part in determining whether or not a gift can be accepted by
the USCB Library, including:
* Usefulness to scholarly researchers
* Relevance to the mission and programs of USC Beaufort
* Uniqueness
* Physical condition
* Currency (where relevant)
Anyone interested in donating information resources to the USCB Library is invited to contact
the Library at 843.521.4121(North Campus) or 843.208.8022 (South Campus), or email Ellen Chamberlain, Library
Director, at
ellenc@sc.edu
The Library recognizes gifts with a letter
of appreciation and, at the donor's request, an itemized list. A book plate to identify the donor may be placed in gift books as appropriate. In the acknowledgment of gifts,
the Library is not authorized to make a monetary appraisal for tax purposes;
this remains the responsibility of the donor. The Library reserves the right to determine the appropriate placement
and disposal of
any donated material.
Philanthropic Gifts

pledges, and naming opportunities. Anyone interested in making such a gift is invited to call
USCB's Development Office at 843.208.8258 or send an e-mail message to Colleen
