Committee Chair Nikki Seltzer.jpg

T.gifhe University of South Carolina has a long and important history with government, beginning with the chartering of South Carolina College in 1801 by the state legislature. The Bicentennial Government Committee is working to involve the various areas of government -- local, state and national -- in our University's 200th anniversary. We are developing concepts for projects, events and programs that focus on past, present and future ideas on government and service. We also hope to hold sessions of government on all USC campuses during our Bicentennial, and to recognize former students who have served government since graduation. Our Government Committee looks forward to an exciting Bicentennial year that includes a celebration of public service.
