USC Beaufort

Ideally centered in the historic district of coastal Beaufort, the Beaufort campus serves a growing population in a thriving resort area. Students from the surrounding sea islands and several inland counties attend classes in Beaufort, on the two local U.S. Marine Corps installations, and on Hilton Head Island. Many students who come to the beaches for summer jobs also earn university credit in summer courses. Many Beaufort residents have joined the traditional college students to take advantage of the offerings in the undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education programs. The enrollment has grown from 82 in the fall of 1959 when the campus opened to 1,175 in the fall of 2000. The marine science research and sea turtle program on Pritchards Island and the Fine Arts Festival are two of the distinctive ways in which the campus involves its students and the community.

Degree Programs Offered

Associate in Arts
Associate in Science
Associate in Nursing (joint program with Technical College of the Low Country)

The Beaufort campus also assists in the completion of bachelor’s degrees by offering selected upper-division course work in conjunction with the Aiken and Columbia campuses.
