Career Center

The Career Center offers career development services to students, alumni, faculty, and staff from its main office located on the 6th floor of the Close-Hipp Building and from a satellite office in the College of Engineering and Information Technology at 300 S. Main Street. The center also assists local, regional, national, and international employers in filling needs for part-time and full-time employment. The center can be reached by phone at 803-777-7280, by fax at 803-777-7556, or on the Web at www.sc.edu/career.

The center consists of two program areas: Career Development provides career assessment, career information, career counseling, computerized career guidance, and job search assistance; Employer Relations provides part-time and summer employment, cooperative education opportunities, paid and unpaid internships, job shadowing, and full-time employment opportunities upon graduation through the Web-based CareerConnections program.

The center uses traditional methods such as on-campus recruiting, as well as technological innovations such as the Web and video teleconference interviewing to connect students and employers. From anywhere in the world, students and employers have 24-hour access to the center’s job listings on the Web and the candidate resume database. Most Career Center services are also available to alumni, faculty, and staff.

Students are encouraged to access the center’s services starting in their freshman year. An orientation is required for use of some Web-based services.

Other religious workers are students in the University who direct and coordinate activities among their peers. Activities and events are open to all students.
