Training and Information Design Division
The Training Division is guided by the idea of lifelong learning. We work with human service organizations to develop curricula and conduct training tailored to the specific needs of those agencies.
We design curriculum packages to teach knowledge and skills that participants can use on their jobs. Interactive training sessions include small-group work and class discussion as well as manuals, workbooks, and visual presentations. Our award-winning producers create videos and CD-ROMs that enhance the training experience.
The Center conducts evaluations on every training to gauge participants' reaction. Most newly developed training is evaluated for knowledge and skills learned and transfer of learning. Evaluation helps curriculum developers and trainers improve training design and delivery. Embedded evaluation, retrospective post-tests, and online surveys are just a few of the tools we use.
Conferences are an alternate method of enhancing staff competence, and The Center offers conference-planning services that ensure content is of the highest quality and logistics are smooth.
