Distinguished alumnus named Ambassador of the Year

Lee Bussell, Chairman and CEO of the Chernoff Newman agency and a School of Journalism and Mass Communications distinguished alumnus, has been named the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce’s Ambassador of the Year. 

Since 1970, the Chamber has honored an individual who successfully promotes the Riverbanks Region, and Lee has a proven track record of improving this area. He has been a progressive & proactive leader with EngenuitySC, Homelessness & Innovista to name a few.

Lee has served and shown leadership on many committees such as Midlands Business Leadership Group and Midlands Economic Development Ombudsman Group.

His honors include New Carolinian of the Year, Public Relations Practitioner of the Year for South Carolina, Distinguished Alumnus of the College of Mass Communications and Information Studies and Distinguished Alumni Award for Leadership Columbia.
