Pardun is new president
of AEJMC
Dr. Carol Pardun wears two
hats—at
least—and wears them gracefully. Dr. Pardun
has been director of our School of Journalism and Mass
Communications since August, 2008.
She is now officially also president of the Association
for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication—AEJMC—for 2009-10.
The link between SJMC and AEJMC is strong. The association was formerly
housed at our journalism school. Fortunately, Dr. Pardun’s
commute between her two responsibilities is only across the
Broad River to West Columbia.
Carol, as many know, is a rower, often on the Broad. We’re confident
she can handle both oars and lead both organizations on a steady—she suggests “lively”—course.
Our congratulations, Madame President.
