CONFERENCES

Each fall, usually the first Monday in October, SCSPA sponsors a one-day conference for magazine, newspaper and yearbook staffs.

The fall conference includes dozens of seminars on the basics of publication skills and the latest publication trends as well as an awards ceremony to honor yearbook and magazine staffs and individuals for their work in scholastic journalism.

The spring conference, usually the fourth Monday in April, includes seminars for magazine, newspaper and yearbook staffs as well as an awards ceremony for newspaper participants.

The SCSPA Journalist of the Year, scholarships, the Reid H. Montgomery Adviser of the Year and the Scroggins Award are also announced during the spring awards ceremony.
