PUBLICATIONS
SCSPA currently produces three publications:
- An online newsletter, Perspective, is published three times a year. Perspective is not only an historical record of our organization, but it also is a way of providing news of our members and ideas to help them in their scholastic journalism endeavors.
- Scholastic Review is an annual publication distributed at the fall conference in September or mailed to members who could not attend. This 36-page magazine, printed by Herff Jones Yearbooks, features many of the winning entries from the individual competitions during the fall, spring and summer:
a. Excellence in Scholastic Newspaper Award (ESNA) competition (March 15 and Nov. 15)
b. Magazine and yearbook individual competitions (June 5)
c. Photography competitions (September and April)
- Schopress Calendar, a joint effort of SCSPA and SIPA, is printed by Jostens Yearbook Company and distributed to members of both organizations in September. The calendar showcases the photography and artwork of winners in individual competitions in SCSPA and SIPA and work of the photojournalism students at the Carolina Journalism Institute. The calendar provides deadlines of state, regional and national scholastic journalism organizations.
