USC Communications


The University of South Carolina's Office of Communications and Marketing is home to Carolina on King, Creative Services, Digital Strategy, Presidential Communications, Printing Services, Public Relations, Strategic Communications, Strategic Marketing and Research and the Writers Group.

The offices's responsibilities include public relations, news and information content for the university's main Web pages, production of a faculty/staff newspaper and alumni magazine and the creation of hundreds of print and digital publications for clients across the USC system. The office reaches prospective students and their parents, potential donors, alumni, faculty and staff and off-campus communities.

Our work helps audiences—both inside and outside the university—better understand who we are and what we do. The office creates credible, timely, authentic and confident communications opportunities that foster conversation and inspire engagement. Our staff of professionals heightens awareness and appreciation of Carolina’s distinctiveness and value. Comprised of seven departments, working in collaboration, the Office of Communications and Marketing develops strategic communications strategies that marry fact-based decision-making, innovative practices and superior creativity to advance the USC brand and reputation.

The office also serves as the university's liaison to several groups in the surrounding community. Developing institutional communications regarding policy, strategic planning and other high-level administrative decisions also is done within the office, as is the execution of marketing and communications strategies to enhance and build the brand image of USC.
