Megan Sexton joined the Office of Media Relations in March 2010 after more than 27 years as a reporter and editor at daily newspapers in Columbia, Charlotte and Myrtle Beach.
As the health and science editor, she coordinates coverage in the areas of engineering, public health, medicine, biological sciences and earth sciences.
She is a New Jersey native who never left the South after arriving at the University of South Carolina in the fall of 1977. She graduated from USC in 1981 with a BA in journalism. Megan lives with her husband (a journalist) and two teen-age sons in the Hollywood-Rose Hill neighborhood near the USC campus.
In her spare time she writes about family travel in South Carolina, is a board member of the Hand Middle School PTO and spends a lot of time in the bleachers at baseball parks around the Midlands.
