Peggy Binette has been a media relations professional for nearly 17 years.
As university news editor and senior writer, Peggy promotes research,
programs and events for the College of Arts and Sciences, the Darla
Moore School of Business, the College of Mass Communications and
Information Sciences, and University Libraries. She is the primary
contact for campus/student life, the Carolina Alumni Association, and
the university's sustainability initiative, serving on the university's
environmental advisory committee. As part of the social media team,
Peggy manages the university's presence on Twitter. She also serves as a
student organization faculty/staff advisor.
Before joining the university's staff in 1994, Peggy worked in
advertising as a sales executive and as an account executive for Price
McNabb Inc., managing advertising and marketing communications for
McDonald's co-ops accounts in South Carolina, North Carolina, and
Georgia.
A native of Basking Ridge, NJ, she is a 1988 graduate of the University
of South Carolina's School of Journalism and Mass Communications.
Married to longtime former Gamecock assistant sports information
director Brian Binette, Peggy often can be found on youth sports fields
throughout the state, watching her three sons play soccer, or reading
her Kindle.
