Each year in partnership with other campus units the CTE offers teaching innovation grants designed to provide resources and support for faculty who are interested in exploring new and cutting-edge approaches in their teaching in ways that promise to enhance student learning. 

Innovative Pedagogy Grant

Full-time faculty are invited to submit proposals for the development or revision of exemplary courses. The purpose of the Innovative Pedagogy Grant is to invest in faculty to design exemplary and highly-engaging student learning experiences in courses offered in a variety of delivery formats.

Award Amount: $2,500 
Application Deadline: Friday, April 19, 2024

2024-2025 Winter Session Online Course Development Grant

USC Columbia faculty are invited to submit a proposal for the Winter Session Online Course Development Grant. The grant is for the development or revision of an exemplary undergraduate online course for Winter Session 2024-2025 (December 30, 2024 – January 19, 2025). Proposals must be for the development or revision of a fully online asynchronous course.

Award Amount:
     •  $2,500 (Full development of a course)
     •  $1,500 (Substantial revision of a course)

Teaching Resource Development Grant for GTA/IAs

Graduate Teaching and Instructional Assistants (GTA/IAs) are invited to submit proposals for the development of instructional materials, modules, cross-curriculum assessments, online learning innovations, or other resources that will enhance the quality and depth of undergraduate student learning at the University of South Carolina. The purpose of the Teaching Resource Development Grant is to invest in GTA/IAs to develop exemplary and highly-engaging student learning experiences in courses offered in a variety of delivery formats. 

Award Amount: $1,000 
Application Deadline: Friday, May 17, 2024
