The Geography of Disasters
CLASS SESSION BEGINS: Monday, January 13, 2014
On-Campus Sessions/Orientation Information:
There will be an introductory in-person meeting on January 13th at 6:45 pm. Students may attend this meeting in Swearingen Engineering Center, Room 2A11. Students may participate live, online or view at a later time. All other lectures and content will be delivered via Blackboard.
Video Streaming Assistance:
Information on technical requirements and getting started with video streaming is available online.
Course Delivery Type: Web: A Web course is taught using one or more web delivery platforms such as Blackboard, Streaming Video, Adobe Connect etc.
Students must have access to a high-speed Internet connection. More information will be provided by the instructor in the course syllabus.
(100% asynchronous - if course has any online or face-to-face meetings, live attendance will not be required. For any such sessions, there will be alternative ways to view or obtain the material covered).

Undergraduate Bulletin Course Description: The study of disasters, their triggering mechanisms (natural, human, technological), their spatial distributions from local to global scales, and associated human responses.
