The Principal Investigator and/or laboratory personnel are responsible for the cleanup and disinfection of biohazard spills that occur in the laboratory.  The Principal Investigator is responsible for ensuring that all personnel in their lab appropriately follow the applicable university procedures for responding to accidental biological spills or personnel contamination.

  Any significant problems, violations of the NIH Guidelines, or any significant research-related accidents or illnesses must be reported to the Biosafety Officer (BSO) for further investigation.
