How to Respond in the Event of an On-Campus Public Health Incident
- The University encourages concerned faculty, staff, students, and families to check the student health services Web site for updates on infectious disease outbreaks.
- If ambulatory assistance is needed, medical help can be provided to faculty, staff, and students by the Thompson Student Health Center. The Student Health Center provides treatment of minor injuries and acute illness during scheduled
operating hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 4 to 8 p.m. Sundays in the fall and spring; and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday in the summer and all University holidays. - If the individual needing assistance is not ambulatory, call 911 to request assistance from Richland County Emergency Medical Services.
- When calling for emergency medical assistance, make sure to provide the nature of the medical emergency, location of the emergency, your name, and phone number from where you are calling; if possible, stay on the phone until released by the campus police dispatcher.
