The University of South Carolina hosts its fourth symposium on the preservation, study, and use of orphan films. Orphans 'O4 – "On Location: Place & Region in Forgotten Films" – takes place Wednesday, March 24 through Saturday, March 27, 2004, in Columbia, SC.

The symposium again brings together an eclectic mix of moving image archivists, cinema scholars, preservation experts, curators, and filmmakers who work with orphaned material. Select speakers will lead three days of presentations, screenings, and discussion.

Registration kits (with badges, meal tickets, etc.) may be picked up in the lobby of the Hampton Inn: 3:30 - 5:30 pm Wednesday, March 24. Thursday through Saturday, registration kits can be picked up at the Russell House Theater.
