| There has been much written
in the national press recently about alleged abuses within the student
loan industry and the relationship between lenders and college
financial aid offices. Some of the reported practices are troubling
because they raise doubts about the integrity of all college financial
aid offices.
We want to assure our students and parents that the Office of
Student Financial Aid and Scholarships at the University of South
Carolina Columbia does not participate in, nor do we condone, any
practice where favors are exchanged between lenders and financial aid
officials. Our chief concern has always been, and remains, the well
being of our student and parent borrowers.
The student loan process is complex, and we recognize that our
students and parents trust us to recommend lenders who not only offer
competitive terms but also share our commitment of providing a high
level of service.
While we suggest a group of lenders who we know meet our high
standards, we have always permitted a student or parent to use the
lender of their choice. Please Click

Administration.
Should you have any questions about our loan process, you may
